Text: Hebrews 12:1
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1 KJV)

Child of God, there is a race that is set before us. Jesus ran that race and endured all manner of opposition against him. He knew his work or race was to do the will of the Father – which was to show people the way back to God. This is why He is the way, the truth and the life. He was aware of the race that was set before Him and was not distracted. At one time, those around Him wanted Jesus to rule over them because they knew God was with Him. At another time, they invited Him to be a judge in dividing inheritance. But He knew that was not what He was called do. Yes, He was to be our Judge and leader, but it was not the time. Satan offered Him all the important positions that men struggle to get to but He refused to be ahead of God. He waited for God’s time of promotion which is always the best. I pray Satan will not set up a detour for you in Jesus name.

[Tweet “Child of God, there is patience and endurance in our race. #wordforthesoul @Pastorchi”] It is said that “the journey of a life time is not done in a day.” “Rome was not built in a day.” Do you not think that our God, if He wanted, could have created the world and all that He did in one day or even at a snap of His fingers. Why did it take Him six days to create the world and everything in it? I believe He was teaching us a few things about process, progression, patience and partnership. These four elements have got to be given place in our lives for us to fulfill our purpose on earth and run like. Follow this teaching as I expand on it more in the coming weeks. I pray you will run a good race in Jesus name, Amen
