MOBO and UMA nominated rapper, J Vessel, drops new video today for fire track ‘Looking For Me’.
The positive, young rapper who boasts being the youngest ever independent artist nominated for a MOBO award in 2014 (at the tender age of 17) had this to say about the track,
When you take a stand for something, be prepared for people to try to bring you down. Sometimes the biggest enemy of our progress is ourselves. We are the voice in our head telling us that we’re not worthy of anything good in the world because of our potentially jagged past. This song is all about moving forward in the grace God has provided believers and saying: ‘I’m not yet where I want to be, but I’m not where I used to be either.’ That is why in the video you see the landscapes and images of me sitting on rooftops having a good time with positive friends – it’s symbolic of rising above your environment or circumstance and ploughing ahead into all God has in store for us.
