One of Gospel music’s most hard-working couples, Warryn and Erica Campbell, launched their new church, California Worship Center, with the 1st service on Easter Sunday 2015.
Prior to the launch of ‘California Worship Center‘, the power couple had held bible studies called ‘Thank God it’s Friday’ in hotels in California since 2013. During an interview on the Yolanda Adams Morning Show, Erica said that her husband was “very serious about the ministry” and that they wanted the ministry to be “God centred and to appeal to people who have been broken, wounded and jaded by church.”
Warryn Campbell, CEO of My Block Records and producer of the music for his wife’s and her sister Tina’s group, Mary Mary, as well as other well know Gospel and RnB artists, says that he received the name and vision for the church about 10 years ago from the God. He had even instructed his business manager to secure the website domain name well before he had received his call as Pastor.
Many may be wondering how the Campbells will manage the demands of a full church ministry with their music careers which also includes the hit TV show, ‘Mary Mary’. Erica is the first to acknowledge that she is a busy woman, wife and mother but said on the Yolanda Adams Morning Show that “He’ll give us grace to do it, the timing, and the space and all that stuff. We’ll come to it. I dare not say no.”
It seems that Pastor Warryn Campbell’s pastoral call has been a long time coming. Born to Pastor Warryn Campbell Snr, he was raised in the Apostolic Church in Los Angeles, California. It was here that his successful journey into the music industry began. In 2005, Warryn answered the call to preach the Gospel and was licensed to preach in 2009 by Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer. Four years later the couple started the bible studies group which led to them planting the ‘California Worship Center’ in North Hollywood, California, following Warryn’s official ordination as a Pastor on 1st February 2015.
