Our favourite little yellow friends are back. but this time they have the leading role in their own movie called…you guessed it…’Minions’. Not the most original name but at least you know it’s all about them. They were first introduced to us as a hoard for extremely loyal workers for the ‘Despicable Me’ star character, Gru.

The ‘Minions’ movie will be released in the UK on the 26th June 2015.

The Despicable Me spin-off was launched in London on 11th June and everyone was there to meet Gru’s gang as well as Sandra Bullock who is playing the role of Scarlet Overkill, an ambitious baddie introduced in the new movie.

From the trailer, it seems that the story-line follows the Minions search for a new super baddie to serve and that takes them on a journey of mini adventures, as is easily done for the mischievous group. Brought to us by the creators of ‘Despicable Me’, ‘Illumination’, the all-star movie also features Allison Janney, Jon Ham and Michael Keaton.

As a huge ‘Despicable Me’ fan, I am pretty excited about the release of this movie. The Minions have had a couple of short films released to keep their fan based engaged, but now we finally get the full movie with them at centre stage. They maintain they’re unique communication style and it seems as though there will definitely be some laugh out loud moments throughout the film. Although this is a perfect one to take the kids to see, I would be perfectly happy going with a couple of my adult friends to enjoy a little childish fun.

We’ll be going out to see this on the release date and will get back you with a full review.
