All-female choir, ‘The Reapers Choir’, gear up to drop new track “The Only One (Okan Soso)” later this month with the release of a lyric video.
The award winning women that make up ‘The Reapers Choir’ draw on their African roots for new Afrobeats track “The Only One (Okan Soso)”. The style is a breakaway from the sound we know the ladies for but fans will be sure to love this upbeat dance track. The choir, currently comprised of first and second-generation Nigerian and Ghanaian immigrants, chose to infuse Nigerian words from the Yoruba language into the song encouraging the listener to extol God and His attributes through worship and dance.

Anu Omideyi, director of The Reapers Choir shared, “We wanted to express our worship in a very physical way consistent with our African cultures. As a church gospel choir this song captures part of our normal weekly worship where you can hear anything from praise and worship, to rock, to Afrobeats, to hymns in one church service! We’re now introducing our supporters and everybody else to this side of us.”
She added, “After singing an unexpected up-tempo song at the Premier Gospel Awards in April to an amazing response, we really wanted to continue in that vein. It gave us confidence to show our versatility.”
“The Only One (Okan Soso)” will be officially released on 28th July 2017. Until then ‘The Reapers Choir’ is opening its video shoot of “The Only One (Okan Soso)” to the public. The video will include a few special cameo appearances by UK Gospel Music Personalities and lots of dancing. It will take place on 22 July, to be a part of it email the choir at [email protected]
