TEXT: Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (Hebrews 12:1 KJV)

In the last word for the soul I pointed out few of the ways God will use to get us to fulfill our purpose. Which are

• Process

• Progression

• Patience

• Partnership

I also said that it was not impossible for God to create the world in the snap of his fingers. He is able to say “let there be” and all his thoughts about the world could have been created at once, but he did not. Instead he wanted to teach us essential lessons as mentioned above, one which we will discuss today is ‘Process’. Our God is a God of structure, he is thoughtful, solid and unmovable in all his ways. In Geneses 1:1-2, the bible gives us a clue of the process in creation.

“God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see and all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.” (Genesis 1:1-2 MSG)

The message translation says “earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness”.  In other words there were no structure to earth. God could not bring anything inside the earth until structure is put in place, until he gives it form, until there is a foundation for rebuilding the ruin. God then begins creation of the earth through the process of restructuring, constructing and rebuilding.

Child of God it is the same thing God does with our lives. When he first meet us, we were park of nothingness, empty and ruin. He can’t do anything with our lives until He cleans the rubbish, mend the brokenness, repair the edges, reconstruct and construct the lost shapes and build the foundation of which he can begin a new structure of our lives. Please note, this process will not be easy and never is. It is painfully, there is feeling of isolation, confusion and it takes time. But this is an essential part of our reaching our destiny. Dodging from it will make us remain broken, empty, with no foundation and worst of all, feeling unused. Hence the song which says “break me, mend me, mold me and use me, Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me”.

I pray if you are going through the process at this very moment to hold unto God tightly. The pain, the uncomfortableness that you feel is for your good and it will ease off with time. Hold unto His unfailing love and you will come out as good as new. Your holes/cracks being filled, repaired, restored and rebuilt ready for His great outpouring in your life. Amen & Amen
