Bazil Meade MBE, the founder and living legend behind the famous ‘London Community Gospel Choir’, announces new appointment as patron of The UK Choir Festival.

Bazil Meade, honoured with an MBE in the 2018 new year’s honours list, has been an influencer in the music industry for over 2 decades nurturing some of the best gospel and RnB talents in the UK.

A pioneer in Community Gospel Choirs, Meade co-founded the ‘London Community Gospel Choir’ back in 1982 and has subsequently led the choir to cross-over into the worlds of mainstream TV, radio, secular music, and more.

About his new role as patron of the UK Choir Festival, Meade said,

I am thrilled to be working with Russell Scott and the UK Choir Festival not only as Gospel Tutor, but as Patron. I hope to give support, calling on my decades of experience sharing the genre of music that has given purpose to my life.

The UK Choir Festival was launched in 2016 by producer & musical director, Russell Scott, with an aim to support, train and bring choirs together from around the country.
