Manchester’s Leading Gospel Choir Brings in the Sunshine

Fresh from their third award winning performance, at the University Gospel Choir of the year competition in London, Manchester Harmony Gospel Choir is holding their annual summer concert for a night of uplifting, heart warming, foot stomping and exuberant gospel music.

The concert will take place on Saturday 10th May 2014 at 7pm at St Peter’s Chaplaincy and will see the 80 plus choir members backed by a 7 piece band, comprising of the finest musicians. There will also be exclusive performances by special guests.


The University of Manchester’s Harmony Gospel Choir have been performing at numerous events, from charity fundraisers, to the X-Factor, to their own end-of-semester concerts for over a decade. Winners of the national University Gospel Choir of the Year competition in 2012 and 2013 the choir has had a very successful couple of years under the leadership of Choir Director Tosin Akindele, and Musical Director David Önaç.

An unauditioned choir, Harmony Gospel Choir are open to all and is made up of students from a wide range of academic disciplines from Architecture to Zoology and everything else in between! Their Wednesday rehearsals are a highlight of the week for many that sing in the choir. Through many voices coming together in harmony the choir aims to bring to joy of gospel music to the wider community.
