Glory hallelujah, the wait is finally over! UK Gospel Queen, Lurine Cato, announces debut album release date of October 21.
Lurine Cato, the singing beauty with a five-octave range, has had us on tenterhooks for the longest waiting for this album and now it’s finally here (well almost) and is titled ‘Chosen to Serve’.
This lady is impressive you know. In spite of not yet releasing an album Lurine’s C.V. boasts a 2013 MOBO win for Best Gospel, 2016 Premier Gospel Best Female Artist award and GMA Italy Best International Vocalist of the Year. She has also worked with Gospel lege’ Kim Burrell as well as other big name stars including Kylie Minogue, Mary J Blige, Andrea Bocelli, Susan Boyle and Kirk Franklin.
As a pre-lude to the album Lurine released ‘Power’, an anthemic dance track, back in November last year. That track went to No. 1 on aStepFwd UK Charts and had us chomping at the bit looking for this album. To wet our appetite a little further she has just released to radio a new track called ‘Wave it Away’, an uptempo Afrobeat number.
‘Chosen To Serve’ promises to be a diverse body of work that draws from Lurine’s extensive life experience and testimony of overcoming some hard trials. The album features some well-loved artists including Isaiah Raymond (Raymond & Co), Faye Simpson (Nu Colours), rapper, Triple O, and Philippa Hanna (Arrow).
The album goes on general release on October 21 but is available for pre-order on iTunes from October 6 with ‘Wave It Away’ as an immediate download.
