Obamarteenz brings fresh heat to the UK’s small but growing Afro Gospel scene.

Hailing from Nigeria but now living in London with his young family this rapper is on the lips of every urban gospel DJ right now.

Obamarteenz - 'Exodus'As with many rappers, his journey began with a keen interest in poetry. At a young age he was granted the opportunity to perform in Kaduna State, Nigeria. His poetry soon saw him pursuing a music career in Lagos where he worked closely with award-winning producer, Puffy Tee, and honed his craft and knowledge in the increasingly popular genre of Afrobeat.

Obamarteenz’ debut release ‘Exodus’ tells a story of his journey from Nigeria to the UK as a teenager, the challenges he faced in growing up, and how God transformed him into the man he is today.

In regards to what inspired him to write ‘Exodus’ he said:

My brother had cancer 2 years ago and the doctors thought he wasn’t going to live due to the effects of the cancer on his cells. We both prayed and kept believing in God for a miracle. While he was back from the coma he couldn’t speak to anyone but me. All he said was, “you need to sing,” repeatedly. I woke up on a Sunday morning and the song came to me. It took me 2 hours to finish the entire song.
