Last weekend Hip-Hop concert GL Live XI graced Manchester with urban Christian artists such as T3E Saga, Triple O, Shope, Vital Signs and Stevie Valentine.
Hosted by Victory Outreach church in Manchester on Friday 8th September and MAC Birmingham on Saturday 9th September, the GL Live XI concert showcased the combination of UK’s hottest Christian Hip-Hop artists alongside artists from Canada and New York, USA.
First to hit the stage at the Manchester concert was Hip-Hop sensation and MOBO Award Winner, Triple O, he hyped up the crowd with some of his memorable tracks such as ‘Started Again’ and ‘Good Thing’, what a great way to open up the concert with this excellent performer! Followed by him was upcoming artist Stevie Valentine which had to be one our highlights from the night. Stevie brought his own vibrant atmosphere to GL Live XI by performing his style of music and still managed to entice the crowd, one word I would describe his performance is “Lit”.
Watch Triple O’s performance here.
All the way from Toronto, Canada, Christian rapper Shope. Repping his Nigerian routes, Shope brought some African flava to the stage with hit song, ‘Stay’ as well as his usual repertoire. But for me the best performance of them all had to be the headliner act T3E Saga from New York, USA. His smooth stage performance was a winner with the crowd as he remixed some classic praise and worship songs with a Hip-Hop twist to end the night.
The Vinejuice team attended the Manchester concert where the vibes were good and overall the artists performed well. But yet again the attendance was not great, which seems to be an unfortunate ongoing trend in the city. What is it going to take to get urban Christians out to events like these?
