Australia’s megachurch – megagroup, Hillsong Worship, took home their first ever Grammy award this Sunday for one of the biggest worship songs of 2017, ‘What a Beautiful Name’.

Brooke Fraser (Brooke Gabrielle Fraser Ligertwood), who co-wrote ‘What a Beautiful Name’ and took lead vocals, collected the ‘Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song’ award along with band-mate, Ben Fielding, at the star-studded event in New York’s Madison Square Garden.

On receiving the award Brooke said,

This is an absolutely incredible honour. We get to sing and write about the most incredible name of all that has transformed our lives. It is the most enormous privilege. We want to thank our entire recording team, our church, our senior pastors Brian and Bobby Houston, our entire incredible team.

Ben then added,

No matter how far or how close you feel to God, no matter how great the distance, his love is greater, his name is more powerful, more wonderful, more beautiful than any other. May this all glorify the name above every other name, the name of Jesus.

Preach guys!

In true “proud Mommy” fashion, Bobbi Houston shared a tender moment on her Instagram about “the kids” at the Grammys.

Other notable winners on the night included CeCe Winans who took away 2 awards beating Tina Campbell, The Walls Group, Travis Greene, and Marvin Sapp for ‘Best Gospel Performance/Song’ and ‘Best Gospel Album’. The award for ‘Best Contemporary Christian Music Album’ went to Zach Williams.
