This morning you will be waking up to the sad news that many prayed would never come. Daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown sadly passed away yesterday – 26th June, 6 months after being found unconscious in a bathtub in her home.
Reports say that Bobbie Kristina Brown died peacefully, surrounded by her family. She had suffered what her family described to be ‘irreversible brain damage’ and had spent the last 6 months in hospitals and in hospice care. Aged only 22, Bobbi Kristina was the only daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.
According to TMZ, Bobbi Kristina was found submerged in her bathtub on January 31, and police believe she was underwater for anywhere between 2 and 5 minutes. Paramedics were able to resuscitate her, but she was in a medically induced coma and placed on life support.
TMZ also reported that: “Ultimately, Pat Houston and Bobby, co-guardians for Bobbi Kristina, had to make the decision to withdraw medications. It was a rare moment of agreement for the Browns and Houstons … who had battled about her condition throughout her hospitalisation.”
“She is finally at peace in the arms of God,” her family told NBC News in a statement. “We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Following the death of her mother who died in February 2012, this is a double tragedy for the family.
